Invitation to workshop at EnergyLab Nordhavn, looking at new business opportunities
Tuesday, 27 February 2018, 9:00-16:00
Now, we are inviting selected start-ups and SMEs to join the project for a day of interactive discussions and presentations on some of the project’s interesting opportunities and challenges. We will work together and see whether there could be made new business opportunities and collaboration agreements that would benefit both the project and the participating companies invited to this workshop.
The overall themes for the day are as follows:
Energy Bundling – integrated energy systems
Are we looking at a new business model comprising an "Energy Agent" that provides full service for end-users when it comes to the delivery of heat, gas, water, electricity etc., i.e. several products delivered to the customer? "The agent” is handling all the practical issues for the end user, taking care of security of supply, agreements, contracts etc. with the providers.
User-driven Solutions – a business case for new products and services
A business model/facilitator for engagement and involvement of end-users/communities when it comes to developing of desired products and services among energy providers. User experience, design driven processes and anthropological approaches may uncover needs and wishes of end-users and to engage into co-creating and user-driven/user-centred solutions with energy providers and other stakeholders (municipalities, universities, transportation companies etc.), developing new areas for business opportunities.
Visualization and Communication – good understanding means better business
Energy projects are often complex and ground-breaking, thus needing focus of how to visualize and communicate project plans, development, innovative solutions, integration of hard- and software, infrastructure, dreams, effects and impact etc. Static, semi-static and dynamic solutions are needed to fulfil the demand of consortia partners and funders, but also to create awareness and interest among multiple stakeholders to see the possibilities for new business opportunities.
Data services
How can data collected from EnergyLab Nordhavn provide basis for new business opportunities and services as well as to enhance the efforts of more sustainable and climate-friendly energy solutions?
Calculation models – Energy optimizing
How to use measured data to enhance the development and use of heat pumps, to set new standards and lobbying for better and more realistic energy efficient energy-labelling, to secure better optimization of consumption, lowering the return water temperature, improvement of heating systems in buildings etc., i.e. creating better comfort for end-users in many cases, as comfort is becoming an important parameter in people's decision-making.
Professional handling of delegations and site visits
How can EnergyLab Nordhavn, Copenhagen Municipality and CPH City & Port Development secure competent and qualified handling of the many delegations, official visits and interested parties wanting to see and visit EnergyLab Nordhavn and other relevant energy and smart cities projects in the Greater Copenhagen area? Is there a new business model that goes beyond traditional visitor service and conducted tours? How to develop and rethink the concept into more value creating for all parties involved?
But other themes for possible new business opportunities have seen the light during the project's work as well, including Use of district heating supply as a source for absorption refrigeration, Local distribution and selling of energy between end-users/communities, Joint app for end-users to register and complain about irregularities in the energy supply system, Developing of travelling teams for optimization and maintenance of heating installations in residential properties and others.
Do you as a company feel urged to dig deeper into these areas and have a wish for constructive dialogue with the consortia partners in EnergyLab Nordhavn, come join the day of pursuing new possibible business opportunities and exchanging of ideas and business cards.
